Flame Seal Products, Inc. and Songgo-Ritty Flooring Co. Complete Test Series at Intertek Testing Laboratories, Achieving Class-A for Hardwood Flooring

Intertek Laboratories, San Antonio, Texas: Songgo-Ritty Flooring Company of Canada (a division of Songgo-Ritty Lumber Products of Canada, Inc.), using Flame Seal Products' newly developed Wood Seal-A product, a spray applied fire protective surface penetrant, on Hardwood Flooring, achieved a strong Class A fire resistance rating (Flame Spread = 20).

This is a powerful achievement in the Hardwood Flooring Industry for Songgo-Ritty and sets the stage for Harry Phon's launch of a marketing and promotional campaign for his Class A Hardwood Flooring.

It is also a strong benchmark for Flame Seal because, while other companies have caught up with Flame Seal to achieve Class A with various coatings, none have done so with a feasible penetrant (that soak into the wood, rather than lying on top of its surface). For several years the Company had been able to easily pass Class A tests for almost any type of wood or plastic materials with its renowned FX-100 "coatings", but, not with a "penetrant". Now, to achieve Class A with a "penetrant" that soaks deep into the wood via simple spray-on applications, is a major breakthrough. This allows ease of production for the manufacturer (Songgo-Ritty) and also provides the flexibility to allow many various finishes to be used on the treated flooring, such as stains or top-coats.

Harry Phon, President of Songgo-Ritty is launching a marketing campaign for Class A flooring based on these results. Flame Seal has granted exclusive rights to these technologies to Songgo-Ritty for the World-wide flooring Industry, thus establishing a strong partnership for both the technical and marketing aspects of this work. The two companies have already begun phase two preparations for tests to also obtain a Firewall rating for Songgo-Ritty's complete floor systems, including its plywood sub-floor assemblies, to create a hardwood floor system that is not only fire resistant, but that is also a functional Firewall safety barrier, the ultimate concept in personal safety. When that series is complete, phase two marketing to include Firewall Rated Plywood Subfloor systems is planned.
