RECOMMENDED USE: FX-PL™ FIRE RETARDANT COATING for ABS PLASTIC - is our most powerful fire protection coating for ABS Plastic and has passed the UL94VO. Application may be accomplished by either brush, roller, or spray methods. The coverage rate varies, depending upon the results desired. (For the UL test applied thickness was 7.5 mils.) FX-PL™ Coating provides the highest level of fire protection due to the formation of an extremely thick insulating barrier when exposed to fire. The coating can expand up to 100 times its dry film thickness. . A Marine Exterior Paint - Silicone Yacht Finish 432 Series from BLP Mobile Paints* was used as a top coating during testing. If any other coating is used, spot test (before and after the top coat) to check that FX-PL™ Coating expands properly when exposed to flames.
